Are you a budding entrepreneur? Do you have a business idea that is ripe for action? Wondering exactly what goes into a startup?

Techstars International Startup Weekend is coming to Perth on the 28th of August giving individuals the chance to network, learn and take the leap into the world of startups. Running in partnership with Murdoch University CBD, Spacecubed is excited to host Startup Weekend for its 15th instalment and to see more businesses develop throughout the weekend.

An international program, run in partnership with Google for Startups, numerous events will be running simultaneously around the globe enabling the next wave of entrepreneurs, with the aim for participants to, “experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. As you learn how to create a real company, you'll meet the very best mentors, investors, cofounders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started.”

The 2020 Startup Weekend is open to all ages and all interests, from designers through to accountants, investors or simply observers. Fast paced and highly creative, the Murdoch University CBD location will be a hub of energy, growth and possibility with plenty of rapid idea generation.

Through the weekend, teams are taught Lean startup principles to develop, test, validate and prototype an innovative business model. To conclude the weekend, all teams pitch back their progress and ideas to a panel of community judges, where prizes are shared and the winner is crowned.

Spacecubed has hosted the Perth Startup weekend for a number of years, and seen countless businesses develop during the process. Notable successes include Functionally, founded by Spacecubed former EiR, Tim Brewer, Appollo, a premium service providing patrons with the ability to pay a surcharge for quick entry into industry events and Flanno, a streetwear label, making good clothes for a good cause.

Whether participants found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, find a creative collaborator, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to have a heap of fun, and to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups.

If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now for the best weekend of your life! Early Bird tickets are on sale until August 4!
