This new accelerator programme will receive applications from
budding or established startups and entrepreneurs, who will have the opportunity to participate in a hackathon, and pitch ideas and concepts for innovating the health sector, to a panel of health professionals, investors and industry experts.
Combining Spacecubed’s extensive experience in managing innovation programmes and working alongside the WA startup community, with HBF’s health industry expertise; HBF Activate will take three concepts from ideas stage, to receiving $30,000 of seed investment and develop market ready health innovations and products. The accelerator will run for a ten week period based at Spacecubed, and in return for their investment, HBF will hold a 6% equity stake in the ideas come startups, innovating the health sector.
“The opportunities in health are aplenty, and our focus at HBF is on improving our members’ health, happiness and their overall experience with us. If we can harness new technology to do this, then we’re serious about investing in this area,” Mr Bransby continued.
Perth’s newest accelerator will be based on the following two objectives:
- To access new ideas, delivering better products and services to the health sector
- To support Australian entrepreneurs to get their ideas to prototype and into the market
Providing new ideas and innovations the support they need to grow and enter competitive markets, HBF and Spacecubed are confident the programme will bring real change to the health sector.
