How did your startup/business journey begin?
After many years working in Europe, America and Asia consulting in the financial services industry Tannhauser's Founder and CEO Michael Woods wanted to return home to Perth. Aware of the cyber security talent and business maturity gap in many companies in Australia, he wanted to help raise the cyber security bar for the Australian business community.
In particular, Michael wanted to help boards and owners understand cyber risk so they could make informed decisions and investments to improve their cyber resilience and security posture.
Hence Tannhauser was born in June 2020.
What are you working on at the moment?
With COVID we have seen a shift in companies to embrace digital transformation whether around use of cloud services or improving the working from home experience. Currently we are busy building our brand via Insights and Blogs on our website, and spreading the word about our services far and wide.
The team is working on a number of proposals for medium to large businesses in the areas of cyber strategy and resilience. We are focused on making sure our service supports the business strategy first and foremost, rather than the "tail wagging the dog".
What do you love about being a part of the Spacecubed community?
One of our founding employees Carl Celedin has been an unofficial member of the Spacecubed community for many years with his involvement in events at FLUX and attending CORE Industry functions. It's a great location and excellent facilities.
We look forward to more networking events as more people return to work.
Can you share with us one of your favourite success stories?
Actually still being around throughout the pandemic for us is a great success. Launching a business during this period has been incredibly difficult but also rewarding.
We are experiencing great feedback on our services and are really excited about what the future holds. It would be very remiss of me not to admit we still have a long way to go, but we are enjoying the journey.
How have you adapted post COVID-19?
We formed after the first lockdown while many businesses were still working from home. So for us this is the new normal, thankfully we can offer our services completely virtually.
