Spacecubed recently launched a year-round Office Hours program, connecting members with industry experts, investors and mentors. In April, Adam Stannett (Senior Advisor at Westcourt), Richard Wiles (Founder and Director of Monoceros Solutions), and Craig Hook, (Managing Director of the Strategic Intent Advisory) joined the program as mentors who were available for Spacecubed members to book 1-1 sessions with as part of the series.

We recently sat down with them to discuss their involvement in the program, including how access to mentoring and connection to experts is crucial to helping startup founders in their business journey. See what they had to say below, and if you’re keen to access our Office Hours Program, click here to become a Spacecubed member!

Richard Wiles, Founder and Director of Monoceros Solutions
Through Office Hours, I am looking forward to meeting so many people early in their entrepreneurial journey that are daring to be different and striving to achieve the extraordinary. Being able to help guide them to learn from my own mistakes or experiences is a privilege.

Founders can find themselves in a lonely place at times or treading a path they don’t quite know or understand. Having mentors and industry professionals that can provide support, guidance and highlight a different perspective can be crucial to navigating the various challenges that will come their way.

Craig Hook, Managing Director of the Strategic Intent Advisory
Participating in Office Hours, I am looking forward to helping founders clarify a particular problem they may have. I’m also looking forward to being able to share my experience and perhaps some different perspectives on challenges and opportunities.

These days, founders have lots of potential sources of advice from funders, consultants and friends. However, this advice tends to be business focussed and not much time spent on the human aspects. Mentoring gives me the opportunity to help the mentee with their style and I enjoy watching them grow.

Adam Stannett, Senior Advisor at Westcourt

It’s important for founders to connect with mentors and industry professionals because sometimes, what you don’t know, you don’t know. Because of this, it’s important to reach out to those that have succeeded for advice and guidance in order to help take your business to the next level.

I feel my mentor style is different to others as I have a very casual approach to mentoring and see it more as a partnership, where we can both learn things from each other to achieve greatness.
